Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport; overnight at River Tree Country Lodge.
Day 2: West Kilimanjaro
Drive to West Kilimanjaro at the foothills of the mountain, a little-explored Maasai land. On arrival, we will have lunch and then enjoy a short walk around the Camp. This will be followed by a ‘sundowner’ drink, dinner and an overnight stay at Kambi Ya Tembo.
Day 3: Maasai visit
Today you are going to meet Maasai Chief Leyasaki Olekiuro at his Domain. You will have the opportunity to experience something of the everyday life of the Maasai: how they live, what they eat, what they believe. We will dance with them. After early morning cow milking, they will take us for a walk through areas home to wild animals such as baboons, giraffes, zebras, gazelles and gnus . If luck is on our side, we may see such rare species of antelope as the gerenuk and the kudu. Dinner and overnight at Kambi ya Tembo.
Day 4: Optional Kilimanjaro Day Hike
Depart to Kilimanjaro Londorosi Gate for a day hike up Kilimanjaro to Shira plateau, where you may possibly enjoy a clear–and close–sighting of the Uhuru peak. Dinner and overnight at Kambi ya Tembo.
Day 5: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Drive to Arusha for lunch at the Arusha Hotel, then proceed to Tarangire Maramboi Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Tarangire
Full day game viewing in Tarangire. Enjoy Tarangire’s many herds of animals, including buffaloes, and elephants digging the sand to find water to drink, while their babies learn to use their trunks to find drinking water. Dinner and overnight at Maramboi Tented Camp.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater
Drive to either The Ngorongoro Manor or The Plantation Lodge. Afternoon at leisure, followed by dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Ngorongoro
Drive to the crater for a full day of game viewing, and enjoy a packed lunch in the crater. Drive back to the same Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Serengeti National Park
Drive to Serengeti, enjoying game viewing en route. Arrive for dinner and overnight at either Serengeti Serena Lodge or Kubukubu Tented Lodge.
Day 10: Serengeti
Full day game drive in the Serengeti.
Day 11: Serengeti
Full day game drive in the Serengeti.
Day 12: Serengeti to Arusha
Drive to Serengeti Airstrip for your flight to Arusha.
